European Network
for
Shared Contraception

Welcome to the website of the ENSC Association, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting and raising awareness of male contraception.

Our mission is to facilitate the formation of local user committees and to support volunteers, doctors and anyone interested in male contraception.

Our aim is to

The ENSC Association aims to break down taboos and encourage open discussion about contraceptive burden sharing across Europe.
We believe in the importance of education and information to enable men to take responsibility for their fertility and make informed decisions about their reproductive health.

What we do

We facilitate the creation of local user committees at the request of sexual health centres, or even the users themselves, through various actions:

  1. Recruiting and training volunteers: We meet and put in touch volunteers who want to get involved in user committees. We then offer them training on current and future contraception methods, and provide them with videos and specific documents to help them organise their meetings and events. We also offer a charter to all user committees, which includes a common base for all countries and articles adapted by the referent members. You can find it here: Committee charter.

  2. Working with referring doctors: We work closely with volunteer doctors to ensure that the information and advice provided is up to date and in line with the most relevant medical practices. We are looking for at least one referral doctor for each committee.

  3. Provision of information packs: We provide user committees with packs containing resources and information on the various methods of male contraception that exist or are being developed, as well as online resources that can be easily shared.

Who are we?

We are a small association based in Lyon, France, where each member is a referent for his or her country:
